Bankston in Peanuts

Georgia Peanut Bank Week

At South Georgia Banking Company, we’re proud to join the Georgia Peanut Commission and the Georgia Bankers Association in celebrating the 49th annual Georgia Peanut Bank Week, taking place October 20–24, 2025. This year’s theme, “Peanuts and Pennies: Growing Georgia Together,” highlights the vital role peanuts play in Georgia’s economy and the health benefits they bring to families across our state.

Why We Celebrate

Georgia is the nation’s leading peanut producer, accounting for nearly 50% of U.S. peanut production. In 2024 alone, peanuts were planted on more than 845,000 acres across 78 counties, yielding an average of 3,800 pounds per acre. Behind these numbers are over 4,000 hardworking farm families who contribute to the sustainability and success of our communities.

Join the Celebration

During Georgia Peanut Bank Week, SGBC branches will feature peanut-themed activities and share resources about Georgia’s peanut industry. Stop by to pick up recipes, fun activity sheets for kids, and of course, enjoy some delicious Georgia peanuts!

Our Commitment

Supporting Georgia Peanut Bank Week is more than a tradition—it’s a way to honor the farmers who help keep Georgia growing strong. At SGBC, we believe in investing in local agriculture and the communities that make our region thrive!
